Entertainment Tonight, in partnership with Jive Records, Britney Spears and her management have decided to move up the world premiere of the title video from her new album Circus from Friday, December 5, by a day to Thursday, December 4.
Fan frenzy has erupted around the globe as Britney’s sixth studio album was released earlier this week on her 27th birthday. The move to shift the premiere date for the lavish “Circus” video came after a Korean Web site leaked an unauthorized version of the video on the web. Wanting her fans to experience the anxiously awaited follow-up to her hit single “Womanizer” in the bold high definition that Entertainment Tonight can provide, Ms. Spears decided to respond to the overwhelming international fan demand and move the premiere to Thursday’s Entertainment Tonight.
Barry Weiss, CEO and President of Jive Records, announced that “Circus” is expected to debut in the No. 1 spot when the Billboard charts are released next week.
An extended preview clip of Britney’s “Circus” will stream at ETonline.com beginning at 7AM EST on Thursday, December 4. The site is currently streaming video packages from ET’s exclusive coverage inside Britney’s birthday party including her birthday wish, her celebrity guests and a special welcome just for her fans on ETonline.

Britney and Madonna Back Together?

Remember when Britney Spears just showed up at Madonna’s L.A. tour stop and sorta comatose-jiggled through a halfassed duet of “Human Nature”? Well, it’s payback time!
We’re hearing from inside musical spies that Madonna’s planning on paying back her crazy little showbiz sis, Brit-Brit, and showing up at one of her upcoming concertstoo fierce and fab!
What could the duet possibly be they’d choose from Britney’s eclectic song catalog? Their already existing job together, “Me Against the Music,” would just be too insanely appropriate, and since both babes are far more into the shock factor than actually making beautiful music together, scratch that notion.
Instead, we’re told a far more likely choice would be something along the lines of…
…”Womanizer,” Britney’s current brilliant and subversive comeback number; love it.
“Although it’s Britney’s trademark song right now, don’t for sure count on her sharing it with Madonna,” we’re advised by Spears insiders.
Also, don’t get too used to the notion of anything being totally duet-official right now; it’s all in the early stages, and Madonna’s camp is certainly being cautious at this point.
“I don’t see this happening,” Madonna’s lioness gatekeeper, Liz Rosenberg, exclusively tells us. “Madonna is still on tour, but I’ll let you know.” Hmmm, how interesting.
First off, Liz likes to say things aren’t true, emphatically so, when they are, e.g., Madonna was never going to get divorced. Second, the sort of brush-off entirely means Madonna just might do it; trust me on this. That is, if Ms. M. can steal herself away from that dude she’s so busying trying to have another kid with, A-Rod.
Oh, and did L.R. just accidentally confirm the rumor that Madonna might extend her current tour, which is scheduled to stop as of Dec. 21 in Sγo Paulo, Brazil? The talk that Queen Madge is extending into Asia after that would surely seem all the more likely since Liz said Madonna’s going to be busy touring during Brit’s own tour, which doesn’t even start till March 3, right? Right.

“Circus” To Climb Over 450K Sales

Britney might not want to call her latest release a comeback, but whatever you dub it, her new Jive/ZLG album Circus is soaring past all expectations.
Thanks to a barrage of good publicity for a change, the pop star, who just celebrated her 27 th birthday yesterday with a performance on ABC’s Good Morning America, will debut at #1 on next week’s HITS Album Sales chart with a total that seems to be in excess of 450k, and very capable of climbing even higher.
First-day sales were brisk for the album, coming on the heels of MTV’s highly rated documentary, Britney: For the Record, a Rolling Stone cover story and surprisingly rave reviews. Hey, the media owes her.
With initial guesstimates in the 350k range, Spears appears to be blowing away first-week expectations. Based on first day sales reports, the album seems poised to top the recent first week total of this week’s #1, Kanye West, and, possibly, even Beyonce.
Meanwhile SRC/Universal Motown’s Akon, fresh off a hit single, will be the next highest debut of the week in the 80-90k range, while Asylum rapper (and one-time Geto Boy) Scarface looks to scare up some 30-40k in sales.
The market was up 29% vs. last week, thanks to Black Friday, basically flat vs. the same week last year and still down 14% year to date.
